Kashiwamochi

We celebrates children and their individual characteristics with eating Kashiwa-mochi.

Kashiwamochi, oak leaf rice cake, is a Japanese mochi with red bean paste filling wrapped with an oak leaf.

The leaf of Japanese Emperor Oak not only gives a nice fragrance to the mochi, but also protects it from bacteria, and keeps it moist.

Kashiwa-mochi is believed as a symbol of prosperity of descendants.

Children’s Day is an annual holiday held throughout Japan that takes place on May 5th.
