Kuri-Yokan

In Japan, Kuri-yokan is Japanese confectionery, and is a type of yokan.


Kuri-Yokan is so popular for sweet bean jelly that is made from Azuki beans. Various types of yokan using a variety of local products can be seen everywhere in Japan. Kuri means a chestnut, it tastes the best in Autumn. Yokan is a bar of gelled sweet bean paste. It is made of red bean paste, agar, and sugar. It is usually molded into long rectangles and sliced when eaten. So a lot of sightseeing people purchase Kuri-yokan as their souvenirs.
