4th February is called Rissyun which is the first day of spring according to a Chinese Lunar calendar and 3th February is bean throwing day and the day you eat Ehomaki roll sushi.
"Setsubun" basically means "division of seasons" and is based on the lunar calendar.
We throw beans to expel evil spirits and bring in good luck. Setsubun is an event held to pray for a happy and healthy life.
Children says Oni ha soto, Fuku ha uchi” means “Bad luck out, Good Luck in”. Recently we don't throw too many beans so it will be easier to clean the mess afterwards.
